What to do in the Garden in March
March is a great month to get going in your garden. Spring has fallen upon us which means there is plenty to do. Be very cautious of sudden weather changes, as March can be warm one moment and frosty the next. Even though the cold is still lurking, those warm summer days have enabled your garden to begin to bloom and show off an array of colours. Take this opportunity to get some garden maintenance underway as there are a number jobs which need tending to. You may want to seek help, consider your local gardening services as gardening can be quite hard work!
Springtime is ideal for dividing perennials. Its very easy overtime to allow your garden to get out of control and things might begin to look a bit crowded. This is the perfect month to dig up those Delphiniums, split the roots (carefully) and transfer to a different spot. This process will also help rejuvenate and promote a healthier stronger longer lasting plant. An important note to remember, perennials that flower after 24th June are suitable to be divided, any which bloom prior to this date will, need to wait until Autumn.

- Sew tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers
- Lawn care – Consider a lawn feed and cover any bare patches with grass seed
- Plant fruit trees – Apple and pear trees are great this time of year
